Maria Parr is a Norwegian children's author born in 1981 in Vanylven Municipality. She studied Nordic Languages and Literature at the University of Bergen and currently teaches part-time at a high school in Vanylven. In addition to Adventures with Waffles, Parr has authored several other acclaimed children's books, including Waffle Hearts (Vaffelhjarte), Astrid the Unstoppable (Tonje Glimmerdal), and Lena, the Sea, and Me (Keeperenoghavet). Her works often explore themes of friendship and community, reflecting her deep connection to her Norwegian roots. Kirby Larson is an American children's author born in 1954 in Seattle, Washington. She earned a BA from Western Washington University and an MA from the University of Washington. Larson is best known for her Newbery Honor-winning novel Hattie Big Sky, which tells the story of a teenage girl seeking a sense of home and family on the American frontier. PenguinRandomhouse.comÂ
Beyond Hattie Big Sky, Larson has written several other notable works, including Two Bobbies: A True Story of Hurricane Katrina, Friendship, and Survival and Nubs: The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine & a Miracle. Both of these books have won the Show-Me Award. Larson has also written The Magic Kerchief, which won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award. She is a retired faculty member from the Whidbey Writers Workshop MFA program.

Reedstrom has worked as a bookseller and now serves in the marketing department of Shreve Memorial Library in Shreveport. He lives there with his wife, artist Sarah Duet, and their cat, Nash. In addition to his books, he creates zines and comics featured in outlets like Salon and NPR's All Things Considered.
